The travel industry is seeing a recovery in Chinese inbound and outbound travel, with increased interest from international suppliers and NTOs. Key destinations for Chinese travelers include APAC (especially Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand), Europe (especially the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain), the Middle East, Africa, and the United States.
When booking hotels, buyers prioritize consistency of services, support and flexibility from hotel staff, and rate parity. Additionally, the top reasons for buyers to recommend overseas hotels to Chinese customers are staff who speak Chinese, a dedicated salesperson for the Chinese market, and the ability to communicate via WeChat.
